We intend to hold the 9th annual Hardpack 30 bike ride on September 19th, 2020.
Over the past 8 years the ride has brought together an average of about 200 like-minded bicycle riders, per year, to enjoy a day riding on The Three Rivers Trail. We would hate for the tradition to be interrupted. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to officially gather for the ride this year.
Our plan is to move forward, holding the ride as usual, riding from Rutland, Iowa to Rolfe, Iowa and back. Just be aware as you sign up and make your payment that this plan could change at any time leading up to the ride. The shirts and other giveaways will be produced. All those signing up before the ride will receive these items regardless of what happens with the ride. If we can’t ride together as a group that day we will ask everyone to do a “virtual Hardpack 30 ride” and share our individual ride photos on Facebook.
We will plan a pick-up date and location for everyone if and when the need arises. We do not intend on mailing materials to anyone registering to ride. Please stay tuned to this website and to our Facebook page for updates on the ride as the date approaches.
Please do understand that all money from your payment after expenses goes to County Conservation. Beginning last year, we started saving money specifically for a sculpture for the trail– to be located where the trail intersects with Highway 169 in Humboldt. In essence your payment for the ride is a donation to Humboldt County Conservation for trail upkeep and improvements. As always, thank you for supporting this ride.
Fingers crossed that we can all meet in person and ride together again this year!
